Live Curator of the Year - nomination
Congrego is live music presenter covering a wide range of contemporary genres, focused on bridging social gaps in unique spaces and connecting emerging artists with travelling headline acts.
Over the past 6 years we've hosted over 50 events with 200+ artists, all with the express intention of building communities in physical spaces with like-minded, progressive and intentional artists and fans alike.
Curatorial philosophy and activities
As artists ourselves we commit to the finer details of ensuring care towards artists, and inviting the community at large to be a part of that care-centred approach, in a variety of settings. Intentionally tranquil ambient shows, safer rave spaces and expressive indie rock nights only cover a small corner of our projects.

Programming impact summary (eligibility period)
Our commitment to uplifting unheard voices, communities and scenes is represented by our curation. We act by story-telling, figuratively writing love-letters to every genre one event at a time. We're obsessed with showcasing acts that stand to benefit from overlapping from one another. We actively set up events from scratch and ad-hoc in order to foster these connections. We recognize the advent of boundary pushing artists coming from inside Ottawa and prioritize our efforts to connect them with the world at large with these events and headline artists making stops in a city they've sometimes never heard of.
If you want hyperpop, hip-hop, ambient, digicore, industrial, indie rock, amapiano or something so experimental that it hasn't been named yet, we'll ambitiously make it the best event ever.
