Catalyst Ottawa is a bimonthly event series showcasing local live electronic music performances.
A fun and low-pressure night for established performers, producers looking to try their hand at live performance, for DAWless or laptop jammers interested in bringing their beats into the wild, and for traditional musicians wanting to try something different. We invite anyone playing electronic dance music, ambient, instrumental hip-hop or electronica the chance to perform their music live and to hone their craft.

Résumé de l’impact des programmations durant la période d’éligibilité
As of this submission we have over 50 performances recorded and published on our YouTube channel. Many of these performances were the artist's first live electronic performance, first performance on stage since covid, or first time on stage ever. We are dedicated to local Ottawa-based performers and in 2026 continue to showcase local talent with a backlog of local performers wanting to play our stage. Anybody can play the Catalyst stage - performers apply via a google form and we put together the night with a focus on variety of styles and experience. Our significant part of our audience consists of people who have played other Catalyst nights, creating our own community of performers who befriend, influence, and collaborate together.
